What do you know

Vice President Vance will visit Los Angeles on Friday to meet with federal law enforcement. The visit reported protests in protests, including working from home, including Los Angeles and other communities, the day after a panel of three judges allowed President Trump to maintain control of the National Guard troops deployed in Los Angeles immigration enforcement projects and maintain control of the Los Angeles enforcement operations reported to Southern California. The presence of US Border Patrol agents outside the Dodger Stadium Gate attracted a small crowd of protesters on the road leading to Hilltop Stadium on Thursday.

Vice President JD Vance will visit Los Angeles, the epicenter of the White House immigration enforcement action, on Friday, to meet with federal law enforcement agencies, his office announced.

In a statement, the White House said Vance will tour the multi-agency federal joint operations center and the Federal Mobile Command Center. He also meets with leadership and Marines revitalized by the Trump administration in response to immigration protests in the area and makes brief remarks.

Details about when the Vice President would arrive in Southern California were not immediately available.

The visit comes the day after a three-judicial panel has made the decision for now to allow President Trump to maintain control of the National Guard troops he deployed in Los Angeles after protests over the immigrant raid. The decision halted the orders of lower court judges and found the administration illegally acted when the government revitalized the National Guard over opposition from the news world.

The governor usually activates the National Guard at local government requests, but the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Panel, consisting of two Trump appointees and one Biden appointee, concluded that it is likely that Trump has legally exercised his powers in the security forces’ federal orders.

Fontana Police Station says the arrest was part of an ongoing criminal investigation when faced with a crowd of people mistaken for immigration agents. Amber Frias is reporting NBC4 News’ report at 6pm on June 19, 2025.

The panel said the president did not have the free power to order the state’s National Guard, but agreed that the administration cited the violence by protesters and provided sufficient evidence to defend the rationale for doing so. The ruling means that California State Guard management will remain under federal command.

The military was revitalized after immigration enforcement and protest mayhem in the Southern Rown County community of Paramount, which became violent on June 7th. The next morning, security guards were placed primarily outside federal property, like a federal detention center in downtown Los Angeles.

The limited weekly curfew declared for parts of downtown Los Angeles was lifted earlier this week after arrests fell. The protests against the migrant attacks were almost peaceful with most arrests for illegal Congress and curfew violations. There were also arrests for police officers, vandalism and assault on looting.

The immigration enforcement project is part of President Trump’s massive deportation plan, a central focus of his campaign. The administration highlights arrests that include undocumented individuals convicted of violent crimes. Those caught up in the nationwide attacks include asylum seekers, those who have continued visas and immigrants waiting for a day in immigration courts.

President Trump said in a social media post Sunday that he had directed federal immigration officials to expand their operations in Los Angeles and other cities.

It took two days for a panel of three judges in San Francisco’s 9th Circuit to determine that they had the authority to deploy the California National Guard without the governor’s permission. Robert Kovacik is reporting NBC4 News’ report on June 19, 2025 at 11pm.

On Thursday, immigration enforcement operations in the LA area, including outside of Hollywood’s Home Depot, were reported in which federal agents detained several people. Federal agents also ran their operations in San Fernando at Home Depot on Foothill Boulevard, city officials said.

The presence of US Border Patrol agents outside the Dodger Stadium Gate attracted a small crowd of protesters on the road leading to Hilltop Stadium on Thursday.

On Wednesday, at least six people were detained for immigration enforcement activities in Pasadena at a bus stop.

California has 10.6 million immigrants, more than any other state, according to the California Institute of Public Policy. The Pew Research Center estimates that 1.8 million immigrants in California have not been documented in 2022, down from 2.8 million in 2007.

Most of the state’s immigrant population is in large coastal counties such as Los Angeles County, where around 3.5 million people, or around 35% of the county’s population, are immigrants. According to the report, Los Angeles County has around 809,000 undocumented immigrants, with a population of 9.6 million.
