At least one child tested positive for fentanyl after three children appeared to have taken unknown medication at day care and preschool facilities in Victorville, authorities said Thursday.
Deputies for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office were first sent to Laputi Academy on Bear Valley Road after school employees found blue pills in classrooms.
“The corresponding vice-chairman recognized the blue pill with the “M30″ engraved as a counterfeit drug that could contain fentanyl,” law enforcement said.
School staff saw that three children appeared to have taken pills in security video footage, notified their parents and were able to rush to the hospital for treatment.
Of the three children treated and two school employees, at least one child tested positive for fentanyl.
Drug investigators have launched interviews with school employees and parents.
LA Petite Academy, which promotes advertising to provide educational programs to toddlers, toddlers, preschoolers and KER-K students, said it was working with law enforcement.
