The Riverside Police Department has launched an investigation after footage surfaced of one of its officers allegedly destroying someone’s property in his absence.
The somewhat bizarre video, which has been viewed about 300,000 times on LackLuster, a YouTube channel with about 1.3 million subscribers, shows about six police officers entering what appears to be a driveway or patio area of a home. It shows how it goes.
According to the video’s narrator, the home belonged to the girlfriend of the man police were speaking with, but no one was reportedly home when officers arrived.
After police knocked on the door, only the sound of dogs barking, several officers remained in the driveway area where two motorcycles, a scooter, and a nearby vehicle were seen.

Moments later, one of the officers grabbed a skateboard that had been propped up against what appeared to be a pile of lumber and was trying it out when he heard a voice say, “Ollie.”
An “ollie” is a skateboarding trick in which the rider steps on the tail of the board and jumps.
The officer made several unsuccessful attempts as other officers continued to stand around the perimeter of the property.

Eventually, all but two officers left the scene, and cameras showed one of the remaining officers picking up a hammer and two walking toward the skateboards.

In a message to the community posted on the Riverside Police Department’s Facebook page, officials said they wanted to address the concerns raised by the video.
“The department takes this matter seriously and Chief Gonzalez has launched a thorough internal investigation to determine the facts,” the message said. “We remain committed to holding our officers to the highest standards and maintaining trust through accountability and professionalism.”
The exact reason the officer was there to speak to someone is unclear at this time.
