Police have issued a public safety announcement after a suspected DUI drove his car down the stairs and crashed into a popular beach walk route in Los Angeles County.
The Redondo Beach Police Department posted footage of the crash on Instagram on Friday.
In the caption, the department wrote, “This is a PSA for anyone considering drinking and then looking to be behind the wheels to drive a car on the Esplanade.”
Social media posts fly off the stairs of Redondo Beach, showing white BMW Convertible Zoom from the intersection. The date for the security footage is March 25th.
Police officers can then be seen pasting stacked signs with “no vehicle” written under the signs as they issue rules such as skateboards, bicycles, and rollerblades.
The photo below shows the damaged car at the bottom of the stairs and the efforts to remove the car on each crane.
