Local dog owners are seeking public help after a Yorkshire terrier was stolen from a car in Roland Heights.
As of Sunday night, neither the suspect nor the 11-year-old Yorkie, named Lemon, had been found.
Owner Yue Zu said the last time he saw the lemon was on the night of April 19th before the car broke in a car park near the plaza in Puente Hills.
Zuo told Tesla that he had briefly left around 9pm and left Dog Mode active. This is a feature that allows owners to run climate control systems, according to the Tesla website.
When Zuo returns to the car, she discovers that the passenger side window has been destroyed and the 7-pound puppy is nowhere to be seen.
A friend of Zuo contacted KTLA on Sunday afternoon and said that the suspect appears to have been stealing from several other vehicles before approaching Tesla.
Additionally, the suspect allegedly approached Tesla three times before breaking in, grabbed a lemon and drove in his own car.
Neither Zuo nor his friends mentioned that they were stolen by others from Tesla, but they both said they could get surveillance video from various businesses nearby.
Zuo said he filed a police report and shared photos of the suspect’s vehicle with law enforcement.
However, she said police told her that the suspect’s license plate was fake.
Zuo is devastated by invasion and dog paralysis, seeking help to find her Yorkie.

Lemon is described as having a colorful style of fur, with long golden hair tied to three knots on top, then short black hair on his body, followed by long brown hair on his legs, then shaved fur on his legs. Additionally, he usually wears a silver chisel collar.
Zuo said Lemon had a mouth, had no front teeth and loved to sit and shake hands and eat.
