West Hollywood’s frustrated tenants and real estate managers make statements after the burglar has somehow obtained the master key for his email room or mailbox.
Video Surveillance has acquired multiple mail thefts, usually between 2am and 6am, at a building along Kings Road. This is the latest hotspot in this issue.
The footage shows suspects, unmasked people, slip easily into apartments and mailrooms, snatching people’s packaging and mail with simple turns on keys.
Victims say they feel helpless after being targeted over and over again, and some are doubtful about how these keys, or key copies, fell into the hands of suspects.
The keys seen in surveillance footage should be primarily owned by the owners of the US Postal Service Post Office, and many have questioned how this happened.
“They take everything they can, they just empty it,” said victim Elizabeth Lee. “It definitely seems to be an internal work.”
Lee told KTLA’s Chris Wolf that he manages the building that has been attacked at least four times.
“I reported it to the Postal Inspector’s office,” Lee said. “They don’t do anything. So they really need to change the lock.”
No arrests were reported Sunday evening.
