Grieving family and friends gathered at the scene of the shooting in Rosemead on Sunday afternoon to pay their respects to the man.
The deadly violent incident occurred just before 3 a.m. on Nov. 29 in the 7700 block of Garvey Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
The victim, identified by his family as Paul Pacheco Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details are very limited and it’s unclear exactly what happened, but officials say Pacheco was just walking down the street when he was shot.

Grieving family members said the hard-working man loved his children, was not involved in any gangs and had never been in trouble.

“This has just destroyed us all. We are all in shock,” Siliva Pacheco, the victim’s aunt, said at the vigil. “I can’t believe someone would come and shoot him for no reason. He was just walking around minding his own business and they shot him.”
Investigators have not yet released additional information about the shooting, including a description of any potential suspects.
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized to help the family put their loved one to rest.
