Democrats have entered zero on the role of the Secretary of Defense in Signal Group Chat at a confirmation hearing for former national security adviser Mike Waltz and a confirmation hearing to serve as UN ambassador

Waltz was scrutinized after his team set up a signal group chat to discuss the strike against Houthis. The Atlantic journalists were mistakenly included other top management personnel, including Hegseth, Vice President J.D. V. V. and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

D-Va. Sen. Tim Kane of the company said it was an “amateur move” for Waltz’s office to include journalists, but Kane said there was nothing to indicate that Waltz shared any information classified in the chat.

However, Kane said at least two Pentagon investigations are underway, one to determine whether Hegses disclosed the information classified in the chat when he discussed specific aircraft and the time of strike.

“They haven’t reached a conclusion yet, but they certainly haven’t reached the conclusion that no classified information is shared. Am I wrong about that?” Kaine said of the investigation.

“We should not comment on the ongoing investigation and cannot comment,” Waltz said. “What I can do is testify from Director Hegses that there is no name, target, location, unit, route, source, method, or classification information.”

“I got it. Secretary Hegstes says he didn’t share any sorted information,” Kane said. “However, the fact in question is that there are two investigations being conducted in the Pentagon. In an objective and independent way, the classified information is shared and at a minimum, it determines exactly whether to share confidential military information and attack plans that should not be shared.”

Senate Democrat predicts Mike Waltz’s “brutal” UN ambassador’s confirmation hearing

Democrats focused on Zero in the signal group chat for former national security adviser Mike Waltz’s confirmation hearing, in the Department of Defense Group Chat, in the National Defense Hearing, in the United Nations ambassador (Getty Images).

D-Conn. Sen. Chris Koons also expressed concern over the use of signal group chat after Waltz doubled the Trump administration’s claim that information classified in the chat was not conveyed.

“You were sharing details about upcoming airstrikes and launch times and potential targets,” Coons said. “I mean, this was obviously sensitive information.”

Coons asked Waltz if the former national security adviser spoke to Hegses about his decision to share detailed information about the strike.

Next is the US National Security Advisor? This is who Trump chose to replace the waltz.

“What we talked about, the senators were a very successful mission that did not do what the Biden administration didn’t, and they were actually targeting Hooty’s leadership,” Waltz said.

Lawmakers, including Kuhn, expressed their desire to take ownership of what was discussed in the chat, but Waltz argued that the classified information was not shared.

“I wanted to hear from you that you regret sharing very sensitive and timely information about military strikes against commercially available apps,” Coons said. “It’s not the right way to share such important information, as both of us know.”

“Again, I think there’s a fundamental disagreement because Senator, there was no information classified in that chat,” Waltz said.

The Department of Defense declined to provide comment to Fox News Digital. Waltz could not contact us due to comment by Fox News Digital.

Waltz previously served as a US lawmaker from Florida, but was a retired Army National Guard colonel and former Green Beret.

President Donald Trump announced that Waltz would leave his role in the White House, which leads the National Security Council on May 1, but hours later he announced the nomination of a former Florida lawmaker representing the United States at the United Nations.
