Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz said Elon Musk, CEO and leader of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Tesla and SpaceX, should be demonized in the clear escalation of their feud.
Waltz spoke at City Hall in Youngstown, Ohio as he lay in a mask that he had previously pointedly criticized. He was talking about social media and Democrats’ views on success when he trained a billionaire tech magnate.
“We’re creating the false story that everyone is very rich and has a Lamborghini, and life is easy,” Waltz told the crowd. “But that’s something we have to grasp in our society about social media and all of that.”

“But I don’t think we should make a party demonizing someone because someone can afford something,” he added. “The thing we should demonize is people like Elon Musk and the ones who do that. That’s not true.”
Previously, Waltz said the Democrats should convey a message that “it’s okay to succeed” and that they should celebrate success.
“My beef should not be a greedy bastard if it succeeds and don’t pay taxes,” he said.
Former 2024 Democratic vice presidential candidates Walz and Musk have been trading the bard in recent weeks.
The feud began last month when Waltz joked that he regularly checked Tesla stocks. This was down amid a series of vandalism cases targeting electric car companies.

“On the iPhone, they have that little stock app. I’ll add Tesla to it and give it a little boost during the day,” Walz said, referring to Tesla’s stock slump when he lifts his iPhone at a Wisconsin town hall entitled “The People vs Musk.”
Musk responded by turning the Democratic governor’s table in Diss about the losses of the 2024 election.
“I would like to thank the most of you for looking at @jdvance’s portrait in the White House when I need a little boost,” Musk wrote in response to Waltz’s comments.
The White House went back to Waltz’s comments about the billionaire company and joined.

“When we need a little boost during the day at the White House, we walk around the corner from our office and admire these beautiful portraits,” Trump’s quick response team wrote in a social media post.
