As California Gov. Gavin Newsom and President Donald Trump continue to throw immigration policies, the Democratic “sanctuary governor” face a barrage of tough questions at a highly anticipated Congressional hearing Thursday morning.
Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker tell Fox that Los Angeles’ immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) attacks and battle with Trump are likely to become a prominent topic of debate.

“These governors are handcuffing law enforcement agencies from doing their job, embracing predators and calling it “compassion,” explains Kommer’s opening remarks. “It’s not compassion, it’s taking lives, hurting Americans, draining taxpayer money. Congress must consider whether to refund every penny of federal dollars going to cities and states that prioritize criminals over Americans.”

“Americans want a return to common sense. The Trump administration and this Republican Congress are aiming to restore our security and sovereignty. It’s past time when these governors put Americans first.”
All three Democrat governors testify at the hearing in a statement Sunday when Trump used the National Guard to dispel the riots that have been raging over the past few days in Los Angeles. The mob burned cars, looted businesses, and clashed with law enforcement.

“We are standing with Governor Newsom, who has made it clear that violence is unacceptable and that local governments should be able to work without this federal interference and threatening disruption,” a statement read by Walz, Pritzker and Hochul.

Since the LA riots, protests against President Trump’s immigration policy spread across the states of Pretzker and Hochul on Tuesday, causing chaos at large gatherings at Federal Plaza in lower Manhattan and Chicago.
Fox News Digital also received JB Pritzker’s opening remarks. There, the governor and a potential 2028 presidential candidate said his state “cannot simply ignore the suffering.”
“The crisis at the southern border has been devastating in recent years. More so has the response from some of our political leaders,” reads Prtizker’s statement. “When individuals fleeing poverty, violence and persecution arrived at our borders, our country’s leaders faced a choice.
JB Pretzker tears Trump apart as an “authoritarian” and responds to the president calling his weight
“Some border state governors and mayors have abandoned our country’s highest ideals. Instead of choosing to spend millions of taxpayer dollars to treat people as pawns, they bused them to states like us in inhumane attempts to harness the crisis for political gain. Illinois has chosen a different path.”

A Republican on the Oversight Committee spoke to Fox News Digital ahead of action Thursday, saying the three governors were “a willing to trade public safety for left-wing virtue signals.”
“The Democratic-run sanctuary protects criminal foreigners from enforcement of federal immigrants, puts law enforcement in unnecessary dangers and ignores the safety of millions of Americans,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan told Fox News Digital. “77 million people ordered President Trump in November last year to put an end to the prioritization of illegal foreigners against American citizens.

“For people like Walz, Hochul and Pritzker, Sanctuary State Policies are badges of honor. They are willing to trade public safety with left-wing virtue signals,” R-Texas explained to Fox News Digital.
“Perhaps Gov. Gavin Newsom will take a break from rebelling against federal authorities and see why Americans are fleeing California in large numbers to escape from illegal immigration crimes and his failed policies that lead to anarchist thugs,” Fallon added.
