After reports that Obama administration chief officials allegedly coordinated attempts to block President Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory, GOP lawmakers are seeking transparency and accountability, while Democrats have questioned the timing and credibility of the new claims.

Trump’s National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard released a flock of intelligence papers that began last week, saying that Gabbard said former President Barack Obama and some of his closest advisers had promoted the “unnatural tale” of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election to disrupt Trump.

But Democrats argue that Congressional investigations already prove that Russia helped Trump in the 2016 election, while also questioning the timing of the allegations made by pressure to release more Epstein files.

“It’s very dishonest and dangerous,” Sen. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz told Fox News Digital in connection with the allegations from Gabbard. “What I urged the administration was to engage in radical transparency, to make it all public and make it clear that the Obama administration knew what they were doing. They knew they were lying.

But Democrat California Sen. Adam Schiff told Fox News Digital that he thought the allegations were controversial, pointing to former FBI director Robert Mueller’s 2019 report, “We documented Russia’s efforts to help slander Hillary Clinton.

“I think what Gabbard and her staff are doing is cheating,” he added.

However, Republican Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford argued that Steele’s papers were “clearly a Clinton plant” and that Clinton’s campaign could actually “work with Russians to actually use Russians to sabotage President Trump’s campaign.”

“The one that Tarshi Gabbard is pulling out is, “How deep this has become in the White House that he knew about Steel Dejah, they knew it was a Clinton document. When did they start pushing this?

“We’ve come a long way to keep going, but it’s good to be able to get all the information out and pull it out and say, ‘Let’s look at it and let the chips fall where they can.” ”

Sen. R-Fla, Sen. Rick Scott, said he believes Gabbard is doing the right thing and expresses his hopes for extreme transparency amidst the astonishing allegations.

“Part of this election was about transparency and government accountability, and that’s exactly what it is. [Gabbard] Scott said. “That’s exactly what the Trump administration is trying to do,” he said. Follow where the facts are. If anyone does something, we hold them accountable. So I think the right process is going on. ”

D-Mich, a former CIA analyst. Sen. Elissa Slotkin questioned the timing of Gabbard’s release of information, saying that even her 10-year-old nephew understood the move to look at the ongoing Epstein controversy. In a Gabbard document release earlier last week, Trump faces calls from within the GOP, releasing more documents and information releases on dishonest investor Jeffrey Epstein.

“President Trump spent four years in his first term and has been following this issue ever since, and he chose the same day that his name appeared to talk about Barack Obama,” Slotkin told Fox News Digital. “Americans aren’t stupid. We got it. Trump wanted to talk about something different. I have to look at these reports and see how they are procuring. …I like reading my ratings and doing my ratings. But I can’t overlook the timing.

Partisan affiliation has been announced by Sen. John Boosman of R-Ark, Obama’s allegation released by lawmakers and broader public opinion, Gabbard, R-Ark, who believes the issue will “transcend” party affiliation.

“Republicans, Democrats, this is all-over, and this really matters,” Boozman told Fox News Digital. “Hopefully we’ll be open and transparent and people will understand what’s going on. And whatever that is, I’m sure Congress is involved and certainly the Department of Justice is involved. So I think all of these are good.”
