The Rose Parade is a New Year’s Day tradition beloved by millions of people around the world. The eight-and-a-half mile stretch along Colorado Boulevard features flower-covered floats, equestrian units, marching bands and tournament entries. Many of the participants have deep ties to the Tournament of Roses and uphold its rich traditions.
The parade has come a long way since its early days when it drew 3,000 spectators in flower-covered horse-drawn carriages. Today, the floats are technical and artistic marvels decorated with flowers and natural materials.

More than 80,000 volunteer hours are provided annually by the 935 members of the Tournament of Roses Association, known as “White Sweeters.”
The theme of the 136th Rose Parade is “The Best Day Ever!”
“The theme for 2025 is to celebrate life’s best moments: the unexpected moments that bring smiles, warm hearts and fill us with joy,” said newly installed President Ed Morales.
Billie Jean King, sports icon and champion of equality, was named grand marshal. Musical guests include Aloe Blacc, Dynamic Kiesza, Betty Who and Debbie Gibson.
