Rep. Jasmine Crockett of D-Texas, a member of the far-left group of progressive lawmakers known as “The Squad,” told congregations of historically black churches that America needs robust immigration because “we picked cotton.”

Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th Congressional District, spoke at the 125th anniversary ceremony of Grace Baptist Church in Connecticut over the weekend. The comments were part of Crockett’s wider attempts to denounce the Trump administration for cracking down on illegal immigration.

“So I had to educate people about what immigrants are doing for this country or the fact that we are a country of immigrants. The fact is, not people who are going right now and trying to farm,” Crockett said.

“Okay, so am I lying?” Crockett fired back, realizing a troublesome silence. “You’re not! You’re not! We picked cotton! We are us. You can’t pay us enough to find a plantation.”

Crockett’s weekend remarks are the latest in other suspicious comments and controversy, leading to her face of denunciation in the House of Representatives.

One of these controversies came after she introduced her to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. Greg Abbott has been limited to wheelchairs for decades as the “Governor Hot Wheels.”

After Crockett backed up nationwide, she tried to return her comments, but she showed a pattern that encouraged comments about Abbott “Rolling Place.”

“We welcome the president towards the White House to destroy agents that will allow wheelchair children to access education equally,” read social media sharing Crockett a few days before her “Hot Wheel Comments.” Before that, during the reelection campaign against Abbott’s former Democrat Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, Crockett once again blows up the governor of Texas, saying, “The new nickname for Beto O’Rourke is the King of Applause!

Other suspicious remarks leading up to the resolution of the accusations included suggesting that Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz would “knock on the head.” Meanwhile, amid a violent attack targeting Elon Musk and Tesla, Crockett “all that’s what I want on my birthday is that Elon is defeated,” she thought she was telling Tesla owners at the rally to push them to sell their car and remove the company’s stock.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett argued her comments that appear to be chuckling at the disabled Republican leader because of the misconception of “Governor Hot Wheels.” However, her previous comments on the governor indicate that this is not the case. Another comment about putting Crockett in hot water recently included a comment that Democrats should be “punching is fine.”

“I think you’re a punch,” Crockett said in an interview. “I think punching is fine.”

Comments criticizing the interracial marriage of Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donald, a Trump ally since June 2024, have also resurfaced during Crockett’s suspicious statement.

“The fact that you’re talking about ‘Life was good under life’ is because you don’t understand history? Crockett said it was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon at the “Breakfast Club” in June.

“I feel like they’re giving [Donalds] He said, “Yes, Massa. I get it.'”

The condemnation resolution against Crockett, introduced on March 26 by R-Texas Rep. Randy Weber, is still under consideration by the House Committee on Ethics. In a comment on Fox News’ Sean Hannity last month, Attorney General Pam Bondy added that Crockett “needs to step on very carefully” and “words have consequences.”

“She needs to apologise and blame immediately. [her rhetoric] Because even in her hometown, violence has been happening after she issued these statements,” Bondy specifically mentioned Crockett’s comment that she wanted to see “musk defeated” on her birthday amidst violent attacks targeting Tesla.

“That’s dangerous,” continued Bondy. “She needs to know it’s dangerous and she’s looking for more rebellion on her birthday this weekend.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Crockett’s office for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
