Weekend wildfires continue to burn, forcing the evacuation of the Inland Empire

Firefighters continue to fight multiple wildfires that erupted in the Inland Empire over the weekend, burning near their homes and forcing evacuation.

The crew appears to have the advantage in most of the fires on Monday morning, and the wolf fire burning at the ban continues to be one of the most active.

Wolf Fire – Riverside County

The wolf fire broke out just after 3pm on Sunday in the old ban on Idyllwild Road and Wolfskill track trail area in Banning.

As of Sunday night, Calfire reported that the flame had burned 1,165 acres without containment.

Evacuation orders have been issued for RVC-0650, RVC-0749, RVC-0750, RVC-0828, RVC-POPPETFLATS1, RVC-TWINPINES1, MRF-TWINPINES2, MRF-0539, MRF-0751, and RVC-POPPETFLATS4.

An evacuation centre has been opened at Hemet High School, 41701 E. Stetson Ave. in Hemet. The animal shelter is open at 581 S Grand Ave in San Jacinto.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Mandalay Fire – Riverside County

The Mandalay fire was reported before 3:30pm on Sunday, near Tyler Street and Mandalay Court on Riverside.

As of Sunday night, Calfire reported that the flames had burned less than 100 acres of land without containment, but authorities said progress in progress had been halted.

“I’ve seen some small flare-ups throughout the morning,” said Erin Myers of KTLA since Monday morning.

After it was introduced on Sunday afternoon, the evacuation order was lifted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Mindifier – Riverside County

The Mindy fire was reported at 3:45pm on Sunday near Mindy Way, east of Detective Road in Aguanga.

As of Sunday night, Calfire reported that it had burned about 100 acres and contained 50%.

Firefighters worked overnight on a plan to continue increasing containment.

Evacuation warnings remain for the following zones: RVC-2179B.

Authorities have not announced the possible cause of the fire.

Lake Fire – San Bernardino County

A lake fire was reported Saturday near Highway 173 and Cedar Springs Dam Trail, near Silverwood Lake in the San Bernardino County Mountains.

Cal Fire reported that the flame advance was stopped Sunday evening.

As of Sunday night, Calfire reported burning 485 acres, including 15%.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Cable Fire – San Bernardino County

The cable fire erupted around 3:30pm on Saturday near Cable Lane at Martin Ranch Road and Cable Canyon.

Approximately 15 acres were burned right next to the 15-acre freeway in the Devore area of ​​San Bernardino.

Evacuation orders were temporarily introduced as crew responded to the flames. One firefighter was hospitalized with a fever-related injury.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No significant damage to the structure was reported in any of the incidents.
