West Hollywood Pride Weekend: Start your pridemon early with memorable revelation, amazing art events and big community spirit? That’s West Hollywood’s way of approaching the annual celebration. The city’s pride officially began on May 22nd on Harvey Milk Day, but there are still major events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, including the world-famous June 1 parade and the energetic two-day street fair. Check out the full schedule, where to go, the stars are trying to show you, and what you know.
“Let’s Go Glendale” debut: A fresh in the street spectacular that doesn’t include electric traffic, but embraces the joy of Santa, skating, cycling, and the general pedestrians? We were there and in this case “there” is quite a stretch on Glendale Avenue. From Lexington Avenue to Chevrolet Chase Drive, enjoy the fun of gathering summer from 10am to 4am on May 31st. No tickets or admission fees are required.
Free “Summer Arts Festival” in Downtown Burbank: Even if you’re graduating this season and already lined up your father’s gifts, Father’s Day is just two weeks away – this Mega Indie Craft Fair has a way to bring joy. Jewelry, tee, household items, dog items, cat toys and all sorts of baby sweet goods lined up in colorful booths (and there are over 170 vendors). You can enjoy a walk, enjoy the sun on May 31st and June 1st.
Smolgasburg LA is celebrating “Hollywood Bowl Day.” Big Bandshells spin for Mondo Music (and summers like theaters and movies, but you can start an HB-style party early on June 1st across town. Admission is free, but you’ll have your puppy home. And remember: this is in the Arts District, not Hollywood.
“Monster Palooza” makes a roar in Pasadena. I haven’t delved into Halloween decorations yet, but since autumn isn’t too far away, I’m thinking in that direction. Movie make-up pros, major horror stars and terrifying fans will gather in Crown City from May 30th to June 1st to spotlight scary classics with film-level make-up demos and panels. Eye-catching bender boobs are also there to enhance the fall style vibe.
