(Nexstar) – Staff back at the White House are facing massive business as the receiving and outgoing presidents attend the former’s inauguration.
That’s what happened on Monday as President Donald Trump was inaugurated. The changeover began as soon as he and President Joe Biden began their limousine ride.
“As soon as they leave, enforcement staff will take action,” said Matthew Costello, chief education officer for the White House Historical Society. “Essentially, our staff is working nonstop to inventory, process and move all personal items for first families and new first families.”
Trump’s hand was not on the Bible during the oath of office: What does this mean?
Most Americans can’t see every inch of the White House and the changes that have taken place between the first families, but they can see the Oval Office.
Every president chooses the look of their office, from the carpet to the artwork on the walls.
The next president could keep any of the features already in place from the outgoing president (Trump appears to have kept some), but mostly turn it into his own space.
He has been honored by all but three presidents (Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Gerald R. Ford) since he was presented by Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880. , has a determined desk.

Eagle plaque on the house has a meaning: are you eligible for it?
Portraits of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson are back above the fireplace. (Biden had five portraits hanging above the mantle, flanked by larger portraits of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander Hamilton, and smaller versions of Jefferson) . Atop the Mantel currently sits a silver eagle figurine, WSJ reports.
