President Donald Trump denounced former President Joe Biden on Sunday of signing important documents, including a pardon for lawmakers who served on the House Selection Committee to investigate the January 6 Capitol riots.
Trump allegedly violated Biden’s more than 8,000 amnesty was invalid and that Biden had no idea which documents he was signing through an automated device, poses doubts on Biden’s mental acuity during his time in office, calling for whether he personally approved all official actions.
What is an autopen and how does it work?
Autoopen is a device programmed to physically hold a pen and replicate a person’s signature. This is not someone’s signature stamp or digitized printing, but various autopen machines have the ability to hold different types of pens, from ballpoints to permanent markers, as described in the available autopen machines.

Autoopen is a machine that physically holds a pen and replicates someone’s signature.
With a modern machine, someone can store the signature on a smart card or USB flash drive and transfer it to the machine. To activate the device, insert the pen and then press a button or use the foot pedal to create a signature.
Other autopen machines have the ability to write full-length letters for mass handwritten email campaigns. Here you can select different fonts to determine spacing, size, angle, and more.
Autopen use is common in other people, such as lawmakers and celebrities. For example, former President Barack Obama used an autopen machine to lock out his aides and reapproved the Patriot Act in 2011, but he was abroad in France and was unable to physically sign him himself.
That episode marked the first known incident of a president signing law with an automatic pen, despite the fact that other presidents, such as Lyndon B. Johnson, were reportedly filmed on machines and used it to sign correspondence signatures after the invention of the machine during World War II.
White House officials confirmed Tuesday that Fox News Digital has used hand signatures on all legal or binding documents in line with his administration’s official policies on both terms. But Trump admitted he was using it in his letter.
Trump told Air Force reporters on Sunday that although he uses an autopen for communications, it is “disgraceful” to use one when signing documents such as amnesty.

However, the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel determined in 2005 that the president was allowed to use an autopen to sign the bill to the law. More recently, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit issued a ruling in February that it stated that it was “not comparable to prove that writing did not occur.”
“The constitutional texts therefore remain silent on the specific forms that the President’s tolerance Act must take to be effective,” the Circuit said in its opinion.
Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley told Fox News Digital that the possibility of legally challenged the law would “disappear” despite Trump’s concerns over Biden’s pardon over alleged use of an autopen.
“The president is permitted to use an autopen, and the courts do not envisage any fatal conspiracy,” Tarley said.

A Biden spokesman did not provide Fox News Digital any comments on the record.
Following a surveillance project in a conservative think tank, Trump’s attack on Biden on the use of the autopen released a report claiming that the Heritage Foundation conducted an analysis of the Biden documents on March 6, finding that the majority of documents signed during his administration used the autopen.
“This apparent use raises concerns about whether President Biden personally approved each official law, whether unelected staff managed the Autoopen devices, and whether they acted with his approval,” the Surveillance Project said in a report released Monday.
