What we know about Shane Tamura, the man accused of NFL shooting

The gunman suspected of targeting the National Football League headquarters in New York and killing four people was a former standout football player at two Southern California high schools.

Shane Tamra, 27, was a national high school player known for his charters at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita and Granada Hills.

Tamura played soccer for three years at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita’s Canyon Country district before transferring to Granada Hills Charter School in 2015. Tamura didn’t play in the NFL.

“Duty work”

Golden Valley coach Dunkelly told The Times he only remembers Tamura as a “good athlete.” A 2015 article quotes Kelly as saying he expects “big things” from Tamura and several other players.

In his fourth year at the Granada Hills, the 5-foot-7, 140-pound player had 126 carries, 600 rushing yards and five touchdowns, according to Maxpreps. He also won several “Player of the Game” awards. He graduated in 2016, the site said.

Granada Hills coach Walter Robbie told Fox11 that he was surprised by the news.

“Shane was very quiet. He was quiet and hardworking. He was coachable. So whatever he asked him to do, he was doing it. He was leading his actions on the field. He was one of our top offensive players.” “Have you done more? Can you help the kids? Can you reach out to him or can you reach out to me?

“It’s very shocking”

Granada Hills teammate Anthony Michael Leon told NBC News:

“He was quiet, but when we actually talked, people listened,” added Leon.

It is unclear what Tamura did after high school.

Mostly recently he lived in Las Vegas.

The road to mass shooting

The first investigation shows that Tamra moved from Las Vegas to New York and drove a BMW cross-country trip through Colorado, Nebraska and New Jersey over the weekend.

Law enforcement said officers searched for a vehicle that had double parked on Park Avenue between 51st and 52nd Avenue and found a rifle case with round revolvers, ammunition, magazines and a backpack and drugs prescribed by Tamra. There were no explosives.

“Tumra has documented his mental health history,” New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tish said at a press conference Monday night, citing Las Vegas law enforcement agencies. “His motivation is still under investigation and we are working to understand why he targeted this particular location.”

New York Mayor Eric Adams said Tamra is trying to target the NFL but is taking the wrong elevator.
