After a slight delay, the much-anticipated LA Area H&H Bagels will finally open in Santa Monica on Wednesday, February 26th. Franchise owner PhilGross will donate 100% of his first week’s profit to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. On opening day, the Montana Avenue Shop will also hand out tote bags for the first 200 customers and gift cards, ranging from $5 to $100.
Our East Coast counterparts have long considered one of the best bagels in New York City and H&H, and the brand has appeared on shows such as Sex and The City and Seinfeld. The chain currently has seven locations in its hometown, with plans to expand to Florida, North Carolina and other parts of Southern California, including San Diego and Orange County. Other previously confirmed locations include front posts in Connecticut, Illinois, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC.
As Eater first reported, H&H Bagels Santa Monica, like all other franchise locations, will offer bagels shipped from Queens-based production facilities. The menu at the front post base on Montana Avenue features all classics, from bacon, eggs and cheese to rocks. Flavors include plain, all, sesame, cinnamon raisins, jalapeno cheddar, whole wheat, eggs and pamper nickel.
H&H Bagels are located at 710 Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Starting February 26th, the shop will be open daily from 6am to 4pm.
