White House efforts against India and Pakistan’s ceasefire

It was decided on Friday morning that Vice President JD Vance would call India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi as White House officials are increasingly concerned about the escalation of the conflict between Pakistan and India.

The White House scramble began 24 hours before President Donald Trump announced on social media Saturday morning that he had reached a ceasefire.

After the Indian missile attacks on Pakistan, after Pakistan returned to the Indian military scene, both sides began to fear that the situation would go out of control, taking seriously the option of de-escalation.

The strike shows the latest escalation between nuclear-armed rivals. This is a move caused by the mass shootings that India denounces Pakistan.

In a midday call with Modi, Vance revealed that the US believes it is likely to be a dramatic escalation as the conflict progresses over the weekend.

The Vice President encouraged Modi to consider emission removal options, including potential off-ramps that US officials knew would be acceptable to Pakistanis.

Modi listened to the Vice President’s message, but he did not explicitly show openness to any of the options presented.

Vance’s appeal to Modi came less than a month after meeting with Indian leaders in New Delhi to discuss trade talks.

From that point on, major US authorities continued to work mobile phones at night with their counterparts in India and Pakistani, reestablishing communications on the two sides, allowing them to resolve the conditions of the ceasefire in the next 12-18 hours.

“We are pleased to announce that after a long night of US-mediated talks, India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire,” President Donald Trump wrote about the True Society before 8am on Saturday. Congratulations to both countries for using common sense and great intelligence. Thank you for taking note of this issue! ”

House Republican Congress Chairman Lisa McClain, R-Mich. responded to the president’s announcement by referring him as “President of Peace” in X’s post.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio pointed out in a statement that he and Vance were working with two foreign officials.

“For the past 48 hours, Vice President Vance and I have worked with senior Indian and Pakistani officials including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif, Army Chiefs Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif, National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik, and Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif,” Rubio said.

“We are pleased that the Indian and Pakistan governments have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to commence consultations on a wide range of issues in a neutral place,” he continued. “We praise Prime Minister Modi and Sharif for their wisdom, prudence and political ministers in choosing the path of peace.”

In a post on X, Vance wrote, “A great job from the president’s team, especially Secretary Rubio. And I would like to thank the leaders of India and Pakistan for their willingness to engage in this ceasefire.”
