Julian’s auction was announced Wednesday, and Julian’s auction will be auctioned items from the life and career of late singer Whitney Houston, which will be auctioned in Los Angeles next month.
The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation auction will be held on PST at 10am on August 11th.
Organizers hope to raise awareness and generate important support for the foundation’s initiatives, scholarships and services designed to address the needs of today’s youth.
A preview of the auction highlights will be on display at the Foundation’s fourth Legacy Gala at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 9th, which is supposed to be Houston’s 62nd birthday.
“On behalf of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation, we look forward to partnering with Julian’s auction,” said Pat Houston, the Houston facility executive and president of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation.
“On Whitney’s 40th anniversary, there are a few unique items and clothing that Whitney wore on stage, various A-list events and at home. We collected these items and brought home so many memories.
Items from the auction include:
A Houston casino themed jacket designed by Bob Mackey. Houston’s historic FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony Blue Jersey (1994). Custom at home slot machine. Fake crocodile jewelry box. A yellow dress worn by ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” South African post-apartheid gold gown, turban and design
Marc Bouwer. A black catsuit with crystal decorations designed by Marc Bouwer. A two-piece green velour pants suit worn during the HBO concert “Welcome Home Heroes,” designed by Marc Bouwer. “I’m your baby tonight,” a unique Harley Davidson black leather fringe jacket. Dolce & Gabbana yellow satin shoes, custom mandarin orange shoes, leopard print dress and matching coat.
There are four ways to bid at auction. There will be bids online, via auction house representatives, directly in the room, or in advance.
Houston was found to be unconscious and was declared dead on February 11, 2012 after being submerged in a bathtub at Beverly Hilton. Coroner officials said her death was dead, which was caused by heart disease and cocaine use. She was 48 years old.
