LOS ANGELES (Next Star) – Though he hasn’t stood up for the Oscars, actor Morgan Freeman took part in the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday, paying tribute to two-time Oscar winner Jean Hackman, who died last week.
However, when Freeman took the stage on Sunday, some noticed simple black gloves in his hands.
Oscar winner Freeman has been seen wearing gloves on his left hand for several years.

He previously told Esquar that he had fibromyalgia due to nerve damage that he suffered from in a 2008 car accident.
According to Mayo Clinic, fibromyalgia is known to begin after an event that involves surgery, infection and psychological stress. Fibromyalgia can amplify the sensation of pain and it is believed that there is no treatment for this condition.

Pain medications and treatments are often used to minimize the effects of fibromyalgia, but the 87-year-old Freeman also opened up about wearing compression gloves.
“I suffered nerve damage, but it didn’t get better,” Freeman told people in 2010, adding that if he didn’t move it, his hands would swell.
Freeman also wore gloves when it was announced at the 2023 Oscars, in his recent role in Paramount+’s “Special Manipulation: Lioness.”
