The lap on the streets of Long Beach doesn’t take long, but a lot happens with an 11-turn electric shock near two miles.
The challenging street course, lined with walls and tire barriers, is just 1.968 miles, with IndyCar drivers having a long front that reaches 185 miles per hour.
The fastest sections are along the Shoreline Drive and the Start Finish Line. Grandstand fans can see what happens when the car roars in the past and the pit lane gets busy.
From there, the driver is a chance to hard brake on Turn 1 and get a race and get a chance to lose. At the start of the race and after the yellow flag, the car should come out into the corner.
Next is the scenic and relatively slow dolphin fountain section, spinning 2 and 3. After navigating through navigators 4 and 5, the track is similar to part of a coastline drive.

The engine notes are set for drivers to drive sharp right turns and seaside roads, so they blow away the lined buildings right past Pike Dining and retail complexes. The straight back passes under the pedestrian bridge connected to the Long Beach Convention Center and ends in turn.
The driver enters another technical section of the track, including the left to left, which fully views the spectator’s grandstand on the hairpin turn 11. This last section of the truck is a great place to see the driver set up on another launching Shoreline drive.
Marcus Erickson set a fast lap in 67.7690 seconds in the 2024 IndyCar race. In the 2024 IMSA race, Sebastien Bourdais scored a fast lap with a record 1:12.626 in the finest GTP class.
The Grand Prix in Long Beach is from Friday to Sunday. It features six different motorsport events, including the IMSA Sports Car Grand Prix and the Acura Grand Prix, a Long Beach Indy Car Race.
