Most mail carriers will be closed this week before the holiday season gets into full swing.
The U.S. Postal Service will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving, a federal holiday. USPS carriers will no longer be on the route, and caller and PO box services will no longer be available.
The only service available from USPS is Priority Mail Express, which also delivers on Sundays and holidays.
All USPS services will return to normal on Black Friday, which is not an official holiday.
Which fast food restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving 2024?
Private carriers UPS, FedEx, and DHL handle Thanksgiving differently. UPS will observe Thanksgiving as a holiday and will not perform pickups or deliveries other than Express Critical Service. Everything will be back to normal on Friday.
Similarly, FedEx is mostly closed on Thursdays (except for Custom Critical). On Black Friday, FedEx offices will reopen, but FedEx Express service will be modified.
DHL will be closed on Thursday as it is a public holiday.
Amazon will also stop delivering packages on Thursday.
