One lucky Southern California is the state’s newest billionaire after $515 million worth of Powerball tickets sold in Orange County.
The only victory ticket hit all five numbers, Powerball 7, 11, 21, 53, 61 and 2, after the Saturday night picture. It was sold at seven stores at 763 North Euclid Street in Anaheim.
The second player who hit five numbers but has no Powerball takes home $279,863.
The seven stores that sell winning tickets will receive a $1 million bonus.
The painting on Saturday night marks the 29th consecutive draw since Oregon’s Phenando Cervantes Jr. won a $328.5 million jackpot on January 8th this year.
The next drawing of the Powerball will take place on Monday, March 31st, with the highest award reset to $20 million.
“All California lottery games contribute to the lottery mission of raising extra money for California public schools,” the lottery official said. “These funds support a variety of programs across the state.”
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and the paintings will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 7:59pm
