According to multiple media reports, the 49-year-old Cal Fire/Riverside Captain murderer’s five-week manhunt ended in Mexico this weekend.
Colonel Rebecca “Becki” Malody, who was recently assigned to the French Valley Cal Fire Station, was discovered on February 17 by her mother suffering from multiple stab wounds on her neck, chest and back.
The first responder was dispatched to the 20200 block of Rancho Villa Road in Ramona before 9pm, and despite life-saving measures, the 49-year-old succumbed to injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
A few days later, investigators issued an arrest warrant for Malodi’s estranged wife, Yolanda Malodi, who was caught by doorbell cameras chasing Rebecca at the moment of her death.

According to reports from the OC register, 15 minutes after the alleged attack, Homeland Security logged Yoland across the border to Mexico. The next day, investigators said Yolanda had sent a message to “known associates.”
The 53-year-old served in Riverside County for 13 years on voluntary manslaughter under the name Yolanda Oleziniczac, due to the death of her husband Jim Oleziniczac.
On February 22, Mexican law enforcement captured Yolanda in Mexicali’s Ferrocalil district, near the hotel. She was then transferred to former US custody, processed at a US port of entry and later booked for murder, San Diego County Sheriff’s officials said in a news release.
