The woman was arrested on charges of allegedly stealing hundreds of mail, including stolen ID, credit and EBT cards used throughout San Bernardino County.
The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Rachel Sandoval of San Bernardino.
On March 10, a woman opened a community mailbox to the Rosa Ranch community in San Bernardino using a stolen US Postal Service Master Key.
Witnesses recorded the license plate as they watched the suspect escape with a 2022 white Dodge charger.
Detectives at Fontana Sheriff’s Station confirmed the vehicle as a rental car. Through surveillance video and other evidence, detectives identified Sandoval as the suspect.
On April 16, Sandoval was placed in her home and arrested. Deputies also found that she was not on bail due to another identity theft case.
The suspect’s stolen ID, credits, EBT card photos, Rachel Sandoval’s 2022 White Dodger Charger has been released by Sheriff’s Fontana Station.
While searching for her residence, investigators found hundreds of stolen mail from the San Bernardino area, USPS Master Key, stolen identification cards, credit cards, EBT cards and Social Security cards.
Her phone search warrant allegedly revealed hundreds of photos related to identity theft and fraud.
Sandoval is said to have been purchased at stores throughout San Bernardino County using stolen credit cards.
She has been booked at West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail.
“Investigators believe there will be additional thefts and casualties related to Sandoval,” the Sheriff’s Department said. “The detective is releasing photos of Sandoval and photos of the suspicious vehicle.”
