The woman and the 10-year-old were rescued from a vehicle fire under an apartment in East Hollywood early Tuesday.
The flame was first reported at 2:52 a.m. in a three-storey residential structure in the 600 block of North Kingsley Drive, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
“Fireman [were] At the scene where several vehicles are on fire at the parking level on the first floor of the building,” Lafd said. “Both residential floors of the building were evacuated due to heavy smoke from parking levels.”

Videos from the scene obtained by KTLA show incredibly thick black smoke from the first floor window as the crew used the tool to disassemble the metal fence.
Two residents of the building, a 29-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, were assessed by responding to paramedics and were taken to a local hospital in unknown conditions.
According to the LAFD, around 40-50 firefighters were able to put out the flame in 39 minutes, and the cause of the flame remains under investigation.
