Police say he was seriously injured when he was attacked by an Amtrak train on Monday evening in Ventura city.
The Ventura Police Station took place on an overscattered railway near Seaward Avenue around 5:25pm.
The 24-year-old woman was believed to carry her bike to one arm as she crossed the train tracks near the approaching southbound train.
“The train still attacked her bike while she was still grasping, resulting in traumatic injuries,” police station released. “It appears that the bike may be stuck on the truck just before the collision occurs.”
Officers on the scene provided first aid until paramedics arrived. At that point, the woman was rushed to a local hospital for emergency care. Police said the woman’s amputated limbs were near the accident and was taken with her to the hospital.
As of 7pm, Ventura police said the woman was believed to be in stable condition.
