A woman was shot dead overnight outside a sports bar in Hawthorn, officials confirmed with KTLA on Friday morning.
It happened around 1:50am, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, located in the 11,000 block of South Englewood Avenue.
Deputies and Hawthorne police responded to reports of shooting death outside a sports bar at a shopping centre and found a woman dead at the scene. Authorities identified the victim only as an adult woman.
Footage from the Stringer Service Traffic News LA (TNLA) shows the presence of a large law enforcement agency in the shopping centre’s parking area as bar visitors and other public members are seen leaving the area. However, some remained gathered around the scene, possibly waiting to talk to investigators. A series of warning tapes were also seen around the parking lot.

According to an unconfirmed report from the TNLA, one witness said two suspected women were caught up in a discussion at a nearby bar, with one woman being “forcedly dragged” from the vehicle and shot at least three times in the abdomen. Authorities did not review or comment on this information.
LASD did not report arrests or share any suspicious descriptions, but encouraged anyone with information to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Department at 323-890-5500.
