Emergency crews rescued a woman trapped in a tunnel in Los Angeles’ Westlake neighborhood on Tuesday morning.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials said in a news bulletin that they were called to the 500 block of South Bixel Street around 8:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a woman stuck in a tunnel.
Fire officials said the patient was able to communicate with arriving crews, but did not mention any injuries and did not appear to be in pain. Urban search and rescue teams were also dispatched to the scene.

Sky5 arrived over the scene at 9:45 a.m. and saw crew members standing near a ladder leading into the tunnel.
Just before 10 a.m., the patient was pulled out of the tunnel by a harness and taken to a nearby sidewalk.
The unidentified patient was then placed on a stretcher and taken to a waiting ambulance.
An update on the patient’s condition was not immediately available.
It is unclear exactly how the woman ended up in the tunnel.
