All the gangs are here. So, all Philadelphia stars are always sunny, when they meet for a special screening at the Director’s Guild of America Theatre and become a de facto Paddy pub for a night.
On Tuesday, July 1st, at 7:30pm, Paley Center for Media will win the longest-running live-action comedy series in television history with its latest Paleyve program. It’s always sunny at the Philadelphia 20th anniversary celebration! That’s right, bold dark comedy has been around for 20 years (170 episodes and counts), and you can sneak peek into the latest episodes with the cast and executive producers.
Rob McElhenney (Ronald “Mac” McDonald), Charlie Day (Charlie Kelly), GlenHowton (Dennis Reynolds), Caitlin Olson (Deareynolds), and Danny DeVito (Frank Reynolds) are all on hand after the dialogue after the screening of the 17th season premiere in the theatre. (McElhenney, Day and Howerton will also serve as executive producers of the show.)
That means you can watch the episode eight days before it premieres on FXX on July 9th, hearing first-hand the star insights into the show’s incredible run. The episode in question, “The Gang F ***s Up Abbott Elementary,” is the second part of a highly anticipated crossover with the Emmy Award-winning ABC Mockmentary.

If you need to hone South Philly’s history before the new season drops, the Paley Archives at Beverly Hills Public Library boast a constantly sunny past episode in Philadelphia thanks to FX (or they are on Hulu). However, this archive is worth a visit. From history-forming news broadcasts to some of the most popular television shows of all time, it boasts 160,000 titles in one location. (And unlike Hulu, it’s free.)
Tickets for the Paleylive event will be sold to the public at noon on Friday, June 6th at Paleycenter.org and are expected to sell out soon. However, Paley Center members can access one day earlier. So, if you want to make sure you book a spot, you can always visit a membership (from $75).
