Details are limited, but the victim is estimated to be around 3 or 4 years old, according to LAPD. No further identification factors were provided immediately.
Police did not say whether the child was injured or whether a preliminary investigation revealed a possible cause of death. It was also unknown how long the child was left abandoned before his body was discovered.
LAPD said officers responded to the area and requested a canopy, but as of Saturday morning no further details were available.
KTLA sent the crew into the scene where they saw a white canopy installed next to two garbage dumps in the corner of the car park, with tape being coded from the boundary line.
