President Donald Trump collapsed near a determined desk in his oval office, but President Donald Trump spoke at Dr. Mehmet Oz’s oath ceremony on Friday, when he rushed to help his child.

White House officials confirmed to Fox News Digital that the girl was Oz’s family who was stunned during the ceremony and that she had recovered.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of the Department of Health and Human Services vowed at Oz to oversee the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Senate confirmed the OZ on April 3, and he is currently tasked with managing around $1.5 trillion in federal health care costs.

In addition to leading Medicare and Medicaid services, he also oversees the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). He is responsible for issuing decisions on how the government will cover procedures, hospital stays and medications.

During the ceremony, Oz set the priorities for his role in enacting Medicare and Medicaid reform, with Kennedy leading the way forward “against American health.”

The new bipartisan proposal targets one of the “worst” types of scams that destroy the healthcare industry

Dr. Mehmet Oz will lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Here he is sitting on March 14, 2025, before testifying at a confirmation hearing before the Senate Finance Committee on Capitol Hill, Washington.

“Healthy people don’t consume medical resources,” Oz said of the so-called “Maha” movement. “The best way to reduce drug spending is to use fewer drugs because you don’t need them.”

“The next big thing we want to focus on is the modernization of Medicare and Medicaid,” Oz said. “That’s how Americans get the care they want, they need, and they deserve. Both doctors and patients need to empower patients and providers who need to be equipped with better tools.”

Finally, Oz said he would try to eliminate fraud and abuse within the Medicare and Medicaid systems.

Medicare is a government healthcare program that provides compensation to approximately 65 million Americans over the age of 65, according to the Centers for Medicare’s Advocacy. Medicaid is a federal assistance program aimed at around 72 million low-income Americans, according to Medicaid.gov.
