Police say Vanessa Morales was only 14 months old when her mother was murdered by her father in 2019 in a town about 10 miles west of New Haven, Connecticut.
There have been no signs of her since.
In April this year, 48-year-old Jose Morales was sentenced to 65 years in prison for killing Christine Holloway and tampering with evidence.
At his trial, the 48-year-old allegedly had him and his daughter were with Holloway in her apartment when two intruders broke into the night of the murder, defeating Holloway with a clover, attacking him, and lured Vanessa, CBS News reported.
Morales, who said he was expensive on PCP at the time of Holloway’s murder and daughter’s invitation, admitted to the ju apprentice that he tried to clean the apartment after the murder and dumped Holloway’s bloody evidence in a nearby donation bin.
He is considered a suspect in the loss of his daughter, but he has never been charged.
At a sentencing hearing earlier this month, Holloway’s aunt Anna Rodonski reported that he called him a “unforgivable, unforgivable monster” for being convicted of committing a crime against her nie.
“Where is Vanessa?” she added. “Why is someone so cruel?”
Anthonia Police Station officials who committed the murder praised the verdict, but said Holloway’s murder was just one aspect of the tragic incident as Vanessa remains missing.
“The Detective Bureau will continue to review this case and begin reviewing the court’s transcripts for new information,” an APD official said in a social media post.
