The 21-year-old Yukaipa was shot after saving his teenage brother from a physical attack, authorities said.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department found the 17-year-old brother had been attacked by fellow mobile home park resident Chris Morgan on Sunday evening, before 7pm on Sunday evening, the man said in a news release.
The brother intervenes and threatens Morgan to kill him and head to his home in the 33,800 block of Avenue G.
“After a while, Morgan emerged from his home, armed with a silver revolver, and began firing at the victim and his brother,” the release said. “As the victim tried to escape in his car, he was hit by a bullet and suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.”
The victim was treated for a gunshot wound and is in stable condition.
Deputies responded, and Morgan left the residence with a silver revolver still in his hand before dropping it, authorities said.
A total of eight firearms were seized from Morgan’s home.
He faces accusations of attempted murder and is being held at the central detention center in place of $2.3 million bail.
He is scheduled to appear in San Bernardino Superior Court on Tuesday.
