Two prominent members of the South American theft crew have been detained and $4 million worth of stolen cargo, including tequila and a Bitcoin mining computer, have been recovered, law enforcement officials said.
It is unclear exactly what Oscar’s David Bolero Mancola, 41, and Yonaiker Rafael Martinez Ramos, 25, were taken into custody, but a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department said the arrests were arrested after “extensive investigations” of two members of the organized theft.
During the investigation, the detective served as search warrants at various storage unit facilities in the San Fernando Valley.
Investigators collected more than $1.2 million in stolen tequila, speakers, shoes, coffee, clothing, body wash and pet food.

Another $2.7 million was discovered on a Bitcoin mining computer stolen from LAX as cargo was attempting to be loaded onto a plane heading to Hong Kong.

Martinez-Ramos has been arrested and remains in custody on a bail warrant. Borrero-Manchola was cited for receiving the stolen property and was later released, police said.
Cargo Theft Unit, LAPD’s commercial crime division, performed the surgery with support from the LA Port Police, Union Pacific Police Station and LA World Airport Police.
“This case highlights the ongoing collaboration between law enforcement agencies to combat cargo theft and protect the integrity of commercial transport operations,” the release states. “The investigation is still underway and additional arrests could continue.”
