(KTLA) – Businesses and organizations in the Los Angeles area and elsewhere are taking steps to help Southern California wildfire victims and first responders.
Here are some services available if you or a loved one is affected by wildfires.
This is a shelter open for residents affected by the Southern California wildfires. Planet Fitness offers people free access to locker rooms, showers, hydromassage loungers, electrical outlets and Wi-Fi, regardless of membership status. This offer is valid through January 15 at Planet Fitness locations throughout Los Angeles County that are not affected by the wildfires. UFC Gym is offering free access to locker rooms, showers, recovery services, electrical outlets, Wi-Fi and more to residents, first responders and others affected by the wildfires until the end of January.

Brea City of Industry Corona Costa Mesa Huntington Beach La Mirada Oxnard Rosemead Torrance Shake Shack is offering a free Shack Burger anywhere in the county. The deal is valid until Sunday. Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Pasadena will provide free food and a place to rest for first responders. Sizzler locations in Van Nuys, Los Feliz, Palmdale and Fox Hills are offering free meals to first responders and evacuees.
Meals include a 6-ounce steak, six jumbo crispy shrimp, or Malibu chicken entree and your choice of side and fountain drink. This deal is available until January 12th.

U-Haul is opening facilities across Southern California that will provide victims with 30 days of free self-storage. The U-Box Container Disaster Relief Program is also available to assist evacuees and affected families. Los Angeles-based EveryTable, a nutritious meal company, is offering free meals to first responders through January 12th. Uber and Lyft are providing free transportation to evacuated residents to evacuation centers.
Evacuees can redeem up to $40 in free Uber rides by applying the promo code “WILDFIRE25” in the wallet section of the Uber app before requesting a ride to a designated evacuation site. Masu.
For Lyft, “CAFIRERELIEF25” is a code for free rides worth up to $25. Each user can use the code for up to two rides.
The MALAN Fire & Wind Store Resources spreadsheet provides ongoing updates on organizations opening their doors to victims. Pet and historic preservation fees are also waived. Visit Big Bear is working with local lodging facilities and homeowners to provide discounted lodging to LA County fire evacuees. Visit Anaheim’s official website includes a list of the hotel’s special offers and supports. Verizon waived call, text and data charges for customers in the hardest-hit areas. Free Wi-Fi and charging stations have been deployed to three wildfire shelters. AT&T will provide unlimited data, calls and texts to wildfire areas through February 6th.
