The 64-year-old Santa Monica man was charged with murder after allegedly shooting his wife in the head in front of his teenage son earlier this month, officials said Wednesday.
The February 5th shooting unfolded in the 18,000 block of Santa Rita Avenue in Encino around 7:25pm, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Details are limited and it is unclear exactly how the shooting occurred, but the corresponding officers found a woman identified as 54-year-old Linda Farzan. Investigators say her teenage son witnessed the murder.
She was declared dead at the scene.

A news release from the LA County District Attorney’s Office said that while still not providing the motive for the fatal shooting, the couple said violence was born amid the pending divorce.
“It was a tragic, deeply disturbing shooting that took place in front of a child,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman said. “There is never a family that has to endure such a tragedy. We, in our power, ensure that those responsible are fully responsible for this meaningless, brutal crime. I’ll do it all.”
At the helm without bail, the 64-year-old is charged with felony first-degree murder and felony child abuse in situations that are likely to cause serious physical injuries and death.
He is scheduled to appear in court on February 20th. If convicted as a charge, he will face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
