The false clash that claimed at least one life led to the 10 freeways closing in downtown Los Angeles early on Easter Sunday.
Preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol shows officers were called to a 10 westbound span on Central Avenue due to a false road collision at 5:25am.
The CHP confirmed that a total of three vehicles were involved. One person was declared dead at the scene, and several others were taken to a nearby hospital in unknown conditions.

It was not immediately clear whether impairment played a role in the fatal collision.
Video from the scene shot by KTLA photojournalist John Greenwood shows that highway traffic has stopped completely as the crew began working to clear the scene. CHP officials were seen instructing traffic to be directed.
Both sides of the 10 highway are closed indefinitely on Santa Fair Venue.
