The couple, caught up in camera at a recent Cold Play concert in Massachusetts, became the subject of speculation after seeing their faces hidden from the stadium’s huge screen.
The footage of the annoying moments then went viral on social media.
In the video, you can hear Coldplay frontman Chris Martin being directed at a couple who saw him embrace and shake up music at Jumbotron at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
“Yeah, look at these two,” Martin told the crowd.
The clip then shows the woman, apparently realizing she is on camera, and rushes to hide her face. The man soon becomes a duck from sight.
“Now, come on, it’s fine,” Martin hears saying the pair rushes to free the shot.
“Are they cheating or are very shy,” exclaims Martin. The crowd cried out with a laugh.
The seemingly unpleasant moment became a virus with Tiktok and X, with one video gaining more than 26 million views since Wednesday night. Commenters and the media have tried to identify the couple at the heart of the controversy and check the status of marriage status.
While some internet sluths now claim they know who the couple is, Nexstar has not independently confirmed the identity of concert participants at the heart of the viral moment. In any case, Tiktok commenters are of course very much enjoyed.
“They made it so much worse by hiding,” one viewer said.
“The photographer gave huge services to these two partners!” Another addition.
Currently featured on the “Music of Spheres” world tour, ColdPlay is performing on the Gillette Stadium on July 15th and 16th.
