COMMERCE, Calif. (KTLA) – A parking dispute at the popular Citadel Outlets in Commerce escalated into a violent, all-out brawl and robbery Wednesday that was captured on cell phone camera.
Authorities confirmed to KTLA that shortly after 5 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a report of a fight in a parking lot along 100 Citadel Drive.
Violence victim Patricia Coupa and her daughter Natalie Martinez said the encounter began after they went to an outlet store to return a sweater.
In the parking lot, the two reportedly drove for a long time looking for a place to park. I finally found an open spot, but part of it was blocked by another vehicle’s open door.

The mother waited patiently for several minutes with her daughter at the wheel of the car for someone to close the car door, but eventually her daughter honked the horn and closed the door on one of the car’s occupants. He said he asked if it was okay. .

When she gets back on her feet, the violence continues and she and another woman exchange several more blows.
During the scuffle, a person from the other vehicle can be seen on video opening the driver’s side door of the victim’s Volkswagen SUV. It is unclear whether the suspects were male or female, but the suspects reportedly grabbed a wallet from the car and returned to the trunk of the car.
The person is also seen moving to the passenger side of the Volkswagen shortly after, then quickly returning to the area where the fight was taking place.
The mother told KTLA that the wallet contained not only her driver’s license and credit cards, but also $3,000 in cash that she intended to use to pay rent, pay bills and buy Christmas presents.
It is unclear whether the suspects were still there when investigators arrived, but investigators were able to obtain their license plate numbers from video provided by Citadel Outlets security.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the matter is under investigation, but no arrests have been made.
