Crews are on the scene after a small plane crashed into a Ventura County neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon.
Around 1:51pm, live incident alert app PulsePoint showed smoke displayed in the 200 block of Hymeadow Street in the Wood Ranch community in Simi Valley, responding to a call that the plane had collided with at least one structure.
The Simi Valley Police Station issued an alert at 2:40pm, informing the public that a crash near Hymeadow Street had closed the road and warned residents to avoid the area.
“A small plane crash occurred near the 200 block of High Meadow Street,” the alert read. “The roads are currently closed and traffic is being decouped. Expect delays in the area in the coming hours. Updates available will be provided.”

According to Stringer Service RMG News, unconfirmed reports say the crash caused a fire that began to spread to multiple nearby homes, causing death.
“Like 25 minutes ago, I saw this plane flying very low and irregularly,” a resident of the area said in an interview with RMG News shortly after the crash. “I saw it flying for two more minutes before I heard the crash and saw the smoke.”
Other residents told RMG that all residents of the affected home made it safely, but one of the aircraft was declared dead at the scene.
Details are limited, but as of 3:30pm on Saturday, no injuries or deaths have been reported or confirmed by authorities.
“The plane wobbled and barely built the hill,” the resident explained. “That’s everything I saw.”
The KTLA crew is on their way to the scene.
This is a developing story and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
