UCLA police announced Thursday that a person was arrested near the UCLA campus on suspicion of stealing an electric scooter.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available, but he was suffering from brass knuckles when officers arrested him.
Investigators also determined the individual had an active warrant for sexual assault of a minor.
UCLA police were also trying to determine if this person was connected to three other scooter thefts on campus.

Police told NBC Los Angeles on Wednesday that there have been at least two thefts of electric scooters and electric bicycles in the last two months, and more than 20 arrests for vehicle thefts related to rechargeable light vehicles in 2024 alone. .
Police said the people arrested for stealing the electric bikes were not affiliated with UCLA.
