A man and woman are fighting for their lives after a crash involving a driver in the wrong direction while he and the baby couple died in Los Angeles’ Vermont Square area on Monday night.
The incident was reported around 11:30pm when police said the man in the stolen vehicle moved north at highway and crossed the center divider as the three families were moving south on West Avenue near 46th Avenue.
It was unknown why the suspect lost control of his car, but it slammed the family’s car in the front, leaving crushed glass and car parts scattered across the street.
Police confirmed that the victim’s car child under the age of one died at the scene. Both parents are believed to be in their 30s and were taken to a local hospital in crisis.

The suspect in the stolen vehicle was kicked out and died at the scene. He was described as a man in his 40s only.
Police said they were not involved in the pursuit at the time of the crash and were continuing to search for witnesses and surveillance video.
