The constant fireworks can only mean one thing. The Los Angeles Dodgers just won the World Series. The team defeated the New York Yankees 4-1, with a particularly wild fifth game in which the Dodgers came back from a five-point deficit.

The recent World Series win was the team’s second since the fanless and shortened 2020 season, but the year was missing one all-important celebration. It was a parade. For the first time since the team’s victory in 1988, the Dodgers will celebrate their World Series victory with a parade through downtown Los Angeles.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Friday’s parade. We will continue to update this article as we learn more.

When is the Dodgers parade?

The parade will take place on Friday, November 1st at 11am. The estimated time required is approximately 45 minutes.

What is the parade route?

The parade (with players riding in double-decker buses) begins on the Spring Street side (Grand Park side) of Los Angeles City Hall, heads south, then west on 1st Street. Then head south on Grand Avenue and turn west onto 5th Street. The parade will continue a few blocks west and end between Figueroa and Flower streets.

Do I need a ticket?

No, participation is free. But then there will be a ticketed celebration at Dodger Stadium at 12:15 p.m. Tickets for that go on sale Thursday at noon. However, the team said that depending on the timing, it may not be possible to participate in both the parade and the stadium celebration.

How can I get there?

First of all, don’t drive. Between the road closures and the thousands of fans, you’re sure to encounter traffic jams everywhere. Thankfully, the parade route is within walking distance of seven subway stations. Civic Center/Grand Park, Grand Avenue Arts/Bunker Hill, and Historic Broadway are all located along the parade, and Union Station, Little Tokyo/Arts District, Pershing Square, and 7th Street are also just steps away. Saint/Metro Center is just a few blocks away.

How can I watch the parade from home?

If you don’t want to endure crowds or can’t get away from work, we don’t blame you. Thankfully, it’s easy to watch from home. The parade and stadium celebration will both be broadcast at 11 a.m. on MLB Network and MLB.com. However, local coverage will begin even earlier at 9:30 a.m. on SportsNet LA, CBS 2, NBC 4, KTLA 5, ABC 7, KCAL 9 and Fox 11, as well as radio broadcasts on AM 570.
