A murder investigation is ongoing after the 23-year-old man was shot and killed in Orange County Saturday morning, police say.
The Santa Ana Police Department said it received a report of the shooting at 7:48am on Saturday.
Officers responded to find the victim identified as Christopher Michael Abarka of Santa Ana, and 1100 S. Townsend St.
The Orange County Fire Department crew also responded and transported Abarka to a local hospital, where police said he later died of injuries.
Authorities did not disclose the suspect’s description or state whether an arrest was made or whether anyone was interested.
At this point, the motivation surrounding the shooting is under investigation,” SAPD said in a post in X. “Murder detectives are trying to identify and find additional witnesses who can provide information about the murder.”
