As the Avengers Campus expansion nears, Disneyland has announced the end date for the Red Car Trolley attraction at Disney California Adventure.
The last day guests can ride this attraction will be February 8, 2025. Construction on the expansion of the Marvel-themed area will begin in the same year.
At this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney Experience Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced two new attractions coming to the area.

The first ride, Avengers: Infinity Defense, takes you to Marvel’s New York City, the land of Wakanda, Thor’s home planet Asgard, and more as the Avengers battle King Thanos and try to thwart his plans for global chaos. – Transport riders to different locations in the universe. Disney announced. The second ride, the Stark Flight Lab, pairs riders with the Avengers to test new superhero gear.
Due to anticipated construction, some Backstage locations in the area may be affected, including Backstage’s Red Car Trolley Barn.
The Red Car Trolley attraction debuted in 2012 as part of a reimagining of the DCA Entrance Promenade, according to the Orange County Register.
The attraction closed in 2019 for construction of Avengers Campus and did not reopen until 2022 following park closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The attraction was also used as the backdrop for the 15-minute show Red Car News Boys, which was canceled in 2019.
The show was inspired by Disney’s Newsies musical and movie and featured songs from the 1920s and 1930s.
The Red Car Trolley is a mode of transportation that passes through Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Land, stopping near the main entrance to DCA, the Carthay Circle Restaurant, the Academy of Animation building, and the Hyperion Theater.
