Los Angeles City and county officials have warned residents near scars from several wildfires.
According to the National Weather Service, 1-2 inches of rain will be poured in coastal areas and valleys from Tuesday through Thursday, with 2-4 inches in the hills and mountains.
Peak rain rates of 0.75 inches to 0.75 inches per hour are possible, and the Weather Service issued flood monitoring for Los Angeles and Ventura counties from Wednesday evening until Thursday afternoon.
Floods should be noted on the Southern California region from Wednesday, March 12th to Thursday, March 13th, 2025 (KTLA)
Residents along the wildfires of Palisade, Eaton, Bridge, Hurst, Kenneth, Hughes, Sunset, Lydia and Franklin are being urged to be vigilant.
“Los Angeles County utilities are ready to protect lives, property and the natural environment ahead of rainfall that could result in mud and debris flowing into recent burned areas,” the county said in a bulletin Tuesday. “The crew prepared debris basins, stable slopes and reinforced drainage systems to reduce flood risk.”
The California Department of Emergency Services (CAL OES) also said it has deployed more than 400 staff in advance to help respond to the storm.

Understand the risks of your property: Clean your drainage paths and use punching bags to induce runoff and protect your structure from flooding. Keep garbage cans and vehicles away from the streets so that rainwater cans flow freely. Maintain updates: Follow local weather reports and evacuation orders from authorities. For drivers: Do not move around burn areas or mountain paths.
