Police announced Friday that they have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend, who worked as a Metro bus driver in East Hollywood.
Dorian Holt, 45, who was on the run, was taken into custody and charged with the murder of the victim, who turned out to be a 56-year-old woman.
On Nov. 16, Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of North Vermont Avenue at approximately 7:24 a.m.
Police said the victim was parked near a bus stop at Hollywood Boulevard and Vermont Avenue during a break when the suspect approached him and shot him multiple times at close range.
She was hit in the face, hands and buttocks. Paramedics rushed her to the hospital in critical condition, where she underwent surgery and was later reported to be in stable condition.
Two days after the attack, police named Holt as the prime suspect in the murder.

Authorities said the man fled the scene of the killing and fled out of state to evade arrest.
Over the next few weeks, detectives worked to track down the suspect. He was taken into custody in Escondido on Dec. 12, shortly after returning to Southern California, police said.
It’s unclear how long the two had been together or whether there were any reports of domestic violence against Holt. Her nephew told KTLA’s Chris Wolf that he believes that’s why she left the relationship.
“I think for her, things had reached a point where she felt like things were escalating and she didn’t feel like she needed to be in that situation,” he said. “There was definitely a history of violence.”
Details of the incident, including the woman’s identity, have not been released.
